Most AntiViruses know keygens are illegal and have a high chance of containing malware, so they just label them viruses. Of course, some of them probably are viruses too. Keygens can look like viruses when they are scanned this way, due to how the keygen authors package their code. Because of that, most antivirus solutions will recognize it as a threat and remove it from your system.
Įven though Keygen.exe isn’t a malware by itself, it’s still illegal for obvious reasons and it can be carrying Troyan viruses or data-stealing keyloggers that will wreak havoc on your PC.
